Jean-Charles Potvin, Chairman
Mr. Potvin is currently Chairman of Vaaldiam Mining
Inc. (former Tiomin Resources Inc.). Mr. Potvin most
recently served as Executive Chairman, after holding
positions as Chief Executive Officer and President. Until
January 1994, Mr. Potvin was a director and Vice-President
of BMO-Nesbitt Burns Inc., formerly Burns Fry Limited, where he
evaluated worldwide mining investment opportunities. He had
also been involved in securing financing for a number of
North American gold producers. From 1994 he was President
and Chief Executive Officer of Pangea Goldfields Inc., which
had extensive holdings in Tanzania, until its acquisition in
July 2000 by Barrick Gold Corporation for $204 million. Mr.
Potvin is President of Rukwa Uranium, a private uranium
exploration company. He is a director of Gold Reserve
Corporation, a public natural resource company with holdings
in Venezuela, and of Azimut Exploration Inc., a Canadian
mineral exploration company that maximizes the probability
of discoveries by utilizing a cutting-edge targeting
methodology. Mr. Potvin holds an Honours Bachelor of
Science degree in Geology from Carleton University and a
Master of Business Administration degree from the University
of Ottawa.
Alan Lee Barker, Director & Technical Advisor
Mr. Barker is President and CEO of Sparton Resources.
Mr. Barker has held senior management positions in several
junior and major mining companies, where he was involved in
the discovery and development of a number of base metal,
precious metal, and industrial mineral deposits. With over
35 years of experience in the mining industry, Mr. Barker
has generated and managed exploration, evaluation, and
development programs for various commodities in North and
South America, Africa, Australia, and the former Soviet
Union. Since 1991, Mr. Barker has been closely involved in
the exploration, discovery, evaluation, and development
programs of several significant diamond deposits in Canada's
Northwest Territories, South Africa, Angola, and parts of
South America. He supervised the initial exploration program
on the Diavik Project near Lac de Gras in the Northwest
Territories which led to the discovery of over fifty
kimberlite bodies, four of which commenced commercial
production in 2003. As Executive Vice President of
SouthernEra Resources Ltd., Mr. Barker was involved in the
discovery and development of the Marsfontein kimberlite pipe
in South Africa. Mr. Barker holds an Applied Science degree
in Geological Engineering from the University of Toronto and
a Master of Science degree in Mineral Exploration and
Economics from McGill University. He is a Fellow of the
Geological Association of Canada, is a Member of the Society
of Economic Geologists, the Canadian Institute of Mining and
Metallurgy and the American Institute of Mining Engineers.
Mr. Barker has been a Director of Vaaldiam since 1987.
Roland Bertin, Director
Mr. Bertin, retired, has worked for many years in the
investment field. He was with BMO-Nesbitt Burns Inc.,
formerly Burns Fry Limited, for forty years and retired in
1994 from the organization. While at Burns Fry, Mr. Bertin
was Director of Research and later Director and Chairman of
the Risk Management Committee. He sits on the board of
directors of Mapleridge Capital Corporation, of Home & Ease
Inc. and of Cougar Global Investments. He is also a
director of The St. Francis Assisi Foundation, a charitable
organization.
Peter Bojtos, Director
Mr. Bojtos is a Professional Engineer with over 35
years of international experience in the mining industry. He
has an extensive background in corporate management as well
as in many facets of the industry, from exploration through
the feasibility study stage to mine construction, operations
and decommissioning. Mr. Bojtos graduated from the
University of Leicester, England in 1972, following which he
worked at mines in West Africa, the United States, and
Canada. From 1980 to 1992, he was employed by Kerr Addison
Mines Limited, a Noranda group company in various management
positions, the last being Vice-President, Corporate
Development. From 1992 to 1993, Mr. Bojtos was the President
and Chief Executive Officer of Consolidated Nevada
Goldfields Corporation, which operated precious metal mines
in the United States. From 1993 to 1995, he was Chairman and
Chief Executive Officer of Greenstone Resources Limited, a
company which was developing gold mines in Central America.
For the past twelve years, Mr. Bojtos has been an
independent director of several mining and exploration
companies. He has been a director of the Company since 1996.
Mario Caron, Director
Mr. Caron is a mining engineer and has held numerous senior
executive and board positions with companies operating
internationally. Most recently he served as the President
and CEO of Axmin Inc, a TSX-V listed exploration and
development company active in Africa. Mr Caron is a
Director of Axmin Inc. and he is the Chairman of Orosur
Mining Inc, a fully integrated gold producer and explorer
operating in Latin America and with the only producing gold
mine in Uruguay. He has held positions with Tiberon Minerals
Ltd., the developer of a tungsten mine in Vietnam, Defiance
Mining Corporation, which brought the Tasiast gold project
in Mauritania to feasibility and Eden Roc Mineral Corp., a
gold producer in Cote d'Ivoire. Mr. Caron received his
Bachelor of Engineering, Mining at McGill University and is
a member of the Quebec Order of Engineers and the
Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario.
Robert Jackson, Director, President and CEO
Mr. Jackson has 30 years of experience in the mining and
investment banking industries.. Mr Jackson has been
President since September 1, 2006 and Chief Executive
Officer since June 11, 2007. Prior to joining Vaaldiam
Mining, Mr Jackson was employed by Jaguar Mining Inc. as a
consultant and subsequently as Executive Vice President,
Corporate Development from 2002 until 2006. As well, Mr.
Jackson is a director of Kivu. Mr. Jackson is a qualified
mining engineer with an MBA from the University of Western
Ontario and he is also a Chartered Financial Analyst®.

Sam Randazzo, Director
Mr. Randazzo is Executive Chairman of Uramet Minerals
Limited, an Australian-listed minerals exploration company
which is active in Australia and Guyana. He has 29 years of
professional experience, having previously held senior
positions with the accounting firm of Arthur Young, and the
Bond Group of Companies. Mr. Randazzo found the Chapada
diamond project in Brazil and was responsible for the
financing of the development of the mine.
